When Rita first arrived in Australia from England, she had no support system to fall back on. She had to navigate a new way of life in a place far from everything she knew. Though it wasn’t easy, Rita never gave up, working hard to settle down and succeed in her new home.
Today, Rita is a solicitor and Disability Rights Lawyer who advocates for people with disability. She works closely with her clients to give them a voice, helping to address discrimination in the workplace and show the world what people with disability can do.
Above all, Rita understands what her clients are going through, because she’s walked in their shoes. She is blind and deaf, but that has never stopped her from doing her dream job, and challenging people’s expectations.
